Paraffins, waxes, petroleum jellies and white oils are used in large sections of the cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical and food industries.

They are widely employed as primary inputs / basic materials and are thus important components in formulations.

As essential vehicles for active substances and as liquid, semi-solid and solid auxiliaries with a consistency regulating function, they also possess skin-care properties and give a pleasant feel to the skin (emollients). They help to improve skin health and reduce dehydration. Special mention must be made of their strong occlusive effect. This makes the products unique and is most marked in the case of petroleum jelly; in many cases this is the main reason for using petroleum jelly.

In the food industry the products are used as coatings for fruit and confectionery, as chewing gum bases and as lubricants for food processing machinery.

In addition to special applications in the medicinal products, wellness, heat therapy, massage and spa sectors, they also cover the specialized field of histological waxes.
