Sasol Wax products in the chemical industry are utilized as processing agents and raw materials in manufacturing processes, as well as components of finished products.
In some applications waxes are used as inert carriers e.g. for colours, active ingredients, fragrances etc. They also impart hydrophobic characteristics and can act as sealing or release agent - depending on the physical properties.
Depending on the application technique Sasol Wax products also help provide consistency, form a film or act as temporary processing aids.
In the chemical industries some of our customers also chemically convert our products, e.g. chlorinating, oxidizing or modifying to produce soaps, alcohols and esters.
