The low molecular mass of Sasol Wax paraffin waxes provides the low viscosity required for efficient mixing of a HMA.

Although the lower congealing point of paraffin waxes makes them generally non-ideal for use on their own in packaging adhesives, they are widely used as a cost-competitive blend component in certain HMA systems. They are also ideally suited for the formulation of hot melt adhesives that are being applied at lower temperatures than conventional HMA systems.
