Waxes are used as additives in printing inks and coatings to:

• Improve the resistance of the ink or coated film to rubbing, scuffing, scratching and impact factors.
• Serve as a slip aid.
• To serve as an enhancer in order to achieve certain surface and matt effects.
• To act as a barrier and enhance water barrier and respiration properties.
