- Paving capacity: 1,500 t/night shift
Strips of 60m width and 15m length were renovated during each night shift. In addition to the optimization of the mixing and paving logistics the use of Sasobit® enabled a significant reduction of the paving temperature (125°C to 130°C). Compared with conventional applications this means a temperature reduction of approx. 50°C. Only by using this new technology was it possible to fulfil the requirements of the airport association Fraport AG. The whole work of a night shift had to be finished within a time frame of 7.5h (11:30 pm to 6:00 am). Furthermore it should be emphasized, that the surface temperature had to be below 85°C before opening the runway to the traffic.
